This 18-inch cymbal is the largest version of the Meinl Byzance Jazz Crash, and it's hammered and finished by hand in a Meinl facility in Turkey, home of the European cymbal. The B18JTC was designed to combine the warm and mellow sound that features on many famous jazz albums with some very modern characteristics. It's made of a very sturdy bronze alloy that ensures this cymbal will sound great for many years to come.
Meinl Byzance B18JTC
The Byzance Jazz Crash is quite a thin cymbal, which makes it very easy to get it to open up into a great crash. It has a delicate sound with plenty of warm, low undertones. Instead of sounding brash or shrill, this cymbal serves the music admirably and produces a wash that is excellently dosed for the average jazz kit. You could even use it as a light ride cymbal.
